ConQUIZtador is a strategy quiz game for 3 players.
All are expected to behave in a civilized manner, and to adhere to the rules of fair play, anywhere on the site.
If you have any type of question, first read the game description and the FAQ. You will find a lot of technical – and other – information there.
You are considered a registered user (player) if you have filled out the registration form, and have understood the contents of the Ethics Code and accepted them as applying to you. You will have full access to the services of the site (forums, chats, mail, and games).
You are considered a user if you engage in any kind of data transfer in any direction with Conquiztador, or take part in trial games.
The site is operated by <<
Moderators are players that ConQUIZtador has requested to serve in this capacity. They are highlighted in green on the site. This is a voluntary, unpaid position. They do this in their spare time, spending only as much time moderating as they can, given their studies, work, families, hobbies and other obligations. They do this to help you if you have a problem, and to ensure that discussions stay on topic, and that forums and chats remain civilized. Moderators are not system administrators (operators), and have no access to individual games or the question database.
If they feel it necessary, the moderators have the right to take various steps without providing any reason. These include bans from chats and forums, moving topics, and deleting topics and forums.
Question administrators are involved with evaluating submitted questions, and correcting flawed ones.
They are experienced players doing this in their spare time. They are not system administrators and have no access to the question database actually in use in a given game. They see submitted questions only up to the time such questions are put into play. They may return questions to the sender for corrections, or delete or accept them. Once they have accepted a question, the operating question editor is the one who determines whether it will be used in a game.
Any player who has played 50 games in competition may submit questions.
Questions are evaluated by question administrators according to their best judgment.
You can read more about submitting questions in the Court Jester / Submitting New Questions menu.
The chosen login and kingdom names cannot:
* contain tasteless or vulgar language
* have sexual overtones
* be the name of a 20th or 21st-century politician or political party, or have political associations
* be insulting to anyone else
* Should not contain hate speech
* Should not be the name of a war criminal, terrorist, or mass murderer
* Should not be an advertisement
* Should not be misleading (like for example admin, moderator, mod, operator, etc.)
If any of these guidelines is violated, the moderators may ask you to change the name. If they don’t get a proper response, that login name will be deleted.
The primary purpose of the online game is to allow players to play against one another, whether for stakes (points and money) or without them, in a private room. To create a good atmosphere for play, it is crucial that players follow the basic rules of etiquette during the game (greetings, farewells, avoiding vulgarity).
The following are considered cheating, and will be sanctioned according to the frequency and seriousness of the cases in question:
* If two players consistently and with premeditation conspire against a third
* If a player plays against his/her own nick(s)
* If a player uses help programs, charts, or notes during a game
* If a player passes off points to another
Important! Everyone must use only ONE nick in the competition rooms. We ask players who have more than one nick NOT to use their re-nicks in competition. Any player of whom it is found that more than one nick appears in the daily or GPP rankings will be deleted from the site. This of course does not mean that everyone is delighted that you have more than one nick – but we want to establish rules that are easy to respect. We realize this is the Internet, and we consider you enough of an adult to admit it is not a nice thing to occupy spots in the rankings with more than one nick. If you don’t want to be “Little Lucille” any more, then either delete the nick or wait for it to come off the list.
There are two kinds of filter operating on the site. Their primary function is to distinguish between players rejoining the activity after a period and players who are truly beginners. The criteria for this filter are not public knowledge. Re-joiners may play only against one another or against particularly strong bots; they do not appear in the standings, and finally they cannot compete in the championships on the site.
We have done all kinds of calculations and recalculations in the interest of perfecting the filter, but we know that the final result is far from perfect; this is why we are constantly refining the filter.
There are separate rooms provided for no-stakes games and chats. It is inappropriate to “castle” in these rooms without prior agreement.
Results in the separate rooms are not taken into account for the calculation of GPP and QSP.Games played here also have no effect on the games-played rankings.
The waiting room is there to let players chat between games or seek out opponents for games in separate rooms.M oderators may warn or ban any players who act inappropriately. They determine the nature and extent of the ban by considering the seriousness of the offence.
Inappropriate behavior includes:
* Insulting or vulgar expressions
* Offending or insulting other players
* Inciting others to break the rules – or the law
* Discussing political, religious, or ethnic issues
* Seeking out sex partners, or inviting others to sex chats
* Incomprehensible chat, meaningless strings of letters, text images or repeated text (flood)
* Writing in caps (which is considered screaming generally in chat rooms, and is very distracting in any case)
* Chatting in foreign languages (since most of those present do not speak the language, this is considered impolite)
* Advertising or promotion of one’s own homepage
* Rooting for sports teams
Important: The CEC is not an exhaustive list. In high-traffic hours, for example, a moderator may ask you to refrain from posting poems, quotes, or recipes. Feel free to use the forum!
Registered users may participate in a topic, they may open a new topic.
The topical forums on ConQUIZtador are moderated. This is done by the person who opened the forum (forum owner), by moderators, and by operators. If a player violates the rules set out in section 5, the moderators and operators may, considering the seriousness of the case, ban a player from the forum.
Users participate in the forums on their own responsibility, and the operator takes no responsibility for the content of forum discussions.
Moderators may move a topic if they feel its owner did not open it in the appropriate place.
Moderators may delete a topic without explanation or forewarning if they feel that it:
* Contains vulgar language
* Is insulting to others
* Incites conflict
* Contains racist or inciting remarks
* Is used for the discussion of political or religious debate (both of which are personal issues – and this is a game site)
* Violates the law
* Contains advertisements or other announcements
* Is a topic that has already been deleted and is simply being reposted
* Is a topic on a subject that already has its own topic
* Is out of date or without interest (e.g. no one has posted in 2 months)
Moderators may delete topic posts without explanation or prior warning (marking them as “Off-topic” or “Vulgar or insulting”) if they feel the topic or a given post:
* Is off-topic
* Contains vulgarity
* Incites conflict
* Contains racist or inciting remarks
* Is used for the discussion of political or religious debate (both of which are personal issues – and this is a game site)
* Violates the law
* Is a repost of a previously-deleted entry
* Is a flood (intentional or unintentional multiple posting, or incomprehensible text)
Moderators may reevaluate the judgments of the topic owner, replacing or altering the posts in question.
Important: Any posting of private letters or chats, or conversations on MSN or Skype, without the permission of the poster and his/her conversation partners, will be rewarded by a ban from the forum! The exception – i.e. what will not be allowed in any case, even with permission – is the posting of chain letters or phishing (attempts to learn the password of a user or to obtain money from him/her, such as a for-fee SMS)
Furthermore, vulgar language and language insulting to others is not allowed in the Royal Mail. The sending of such letters will meet with sanction, perhaps even a ban from the site.
Those violating the regulations listed below – independent of frequency or seriousness – will be sanctioned by temporary or permanent filtering, point deduction, banning or exclusion from the site:
6.1 System-level violations or hacking the server
6.2 Hacking or stealing a nick
6.3 Causing technical or content-related damage
Technical damage is any kind of interference that defaces the esthetic appearance of a topic, or prevents its smooth operation.
Content-related damage consists of:
* Cheating or interfering with the normal play of other participants
* Inciting others to cheat, or advertising “techniques” that make cheating possible
* Obvious and intentional aggressive or off-topic comments that impede civilized and flowing conversation, or the use of obscene expressions
* Endangering the tranquility of the forum and its community, and degradation of community life
* Texts that violate normally accepted social norms or degrade the values of nature, history, science, and culture, or any text that may insult normal world views or religious convictions, or that contain political aggression
* Any comments that contain discrimination against peoples, nationalities, ethnic groups, sexes, or age groups, even in veiled form
